Biography: Helena Lea was raised in Washington, D.C., and was exposed to various cultures throughout her childhood. She is fluent in English, Greek, and French, speaks Italian and has reading knowledge of Russian. She lived in Europe for a few years and, consequently, was exposed to lifestyles and attitudes that sharply contrasted with those in the United States.
